Personal Experience
Monika has a broad range of legal experience. After several years of honing her skills as a litigator, Monika discovered her true legal passion in land use and zoning, and has dedicated her practice to this niche area of the law for the past 12 years. . In addition to having served as the Assistant City Attorney to the City of North Bay Village, Monika has represented numerous property owners and developers in a wide range of matters dealing with land development, business licensing, construction permitting, governmental board approvals, and code violations. Through her representation of landowners and developers, Monika has played an active role in shaping many regulations and neighborhoods in the City of Miami Beach. Her practice includes zoning approvals, due diligence reviews, amendments to local governments’ land use regulations and comprehensive plans, as well as addressing licensing and permitting issues.
Monika routinely works with government staff, elected officials, design professionals, and neighborhood activists to cultivate a winning outcome for her clients. She also works closely with municipal building departments and code enforcement officials to expedite the completion of her clients’ projects.
